You Busy?

It is has been some time since my last blog, maybe this is why...

They say if you want something done, give it to a busy person. For a long time I never really knew why that was, I just figured the same old people either kept putting up their hands, or worse found it impossible to say no. However in some recent discussions with a coupe of friends, I think I inadvertently stumbled upon the real reason.

For the last few weeks I have been as busy as I can remember, however I was driving to another early morning meeting this week when I had this thought - "Man I feel energized!"

What the? Where did that come from? I quickly forgot about that thought as my appointment arrived. Then later that day I was talking to a friend when I said the same thing to him, then it dawned on me - I love being busy, it is truely envigorating. When you get done in a couple of hours what you would normally allow the day to fill, you feel you are being efficient, things that don’t really need to be done are binned, but the real key is not just being busy but busy building momentum. I have blogged about it before but I think the business of building momentum is addictive. That’s what gives you energy.

Now you can't keep going at a flat out pace all the time but when you do, go for it. Make it count.

If fact I am on a 13 hour flight right now and can't sleep due to my mind running a million miles an hour, there is so much to do, see, have, love in life.

Don't get me wrong I love nothing more than spending a week fishing in isolation from any phone, tweets or fb messages, but only for a time.

So I guess it is true, if you want something done, give it to a busy person and more than likely not only will they get it done, they will build some excitement as they do.
